art

We are passionate about children having a creative outlet! Unfortunately sometimes our National Curriculum doesn’t have much opportunity for personal expression and yet creative thinking is one of the number one attributes employers look for when recruiting.

Our art club follows a carefully considered programme of creative projects covering drawing skills, painting techniques, working with different media and craft projects. Over the course of a term children will gain experience working with proper art materials such as watercolour paints, charcoal, chalk pastels, oil pastels and clay. We design all our projects with children in mind and we certainly make art fun! The projects are carefully thought through to take the children on an artistic journey where they build up their skills and progress.

We currently run after school art clubs at:

  • Thames Ditton Junior School

  • Thames Ditton Infant School

  • Grand Avenue Primary School

  • Rowan Brae

  • Fern Hill Primary School

  • St Matthews Primary School

  • Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School

  • Grand Avenue Primary School

We also run a weekly art club on a Wednesday 3.30pm-4.30pm in our studio, which is available for children between years 1-6 and can accommodate approximately 12 children. If your school doesn't currently have a Magpie Makes art club bit this is of interest to you, please do get in touch and we will add your child to our waiting list.

"My daughter, Holly, is absolutely loving your art classes. Art and design really lights her creative spark and her work takes pride of place on her bedroom wall. My husband and I are in the design industry so we're thrilled. We'll certainly be continuing your classes - I'll be shot otherwise! Ha ha."
